To become more familiar with the words that you need to use at work, you need to be actively using those words. Just like you cannot swim without getting in the water, you can’t learn new vocabulary without using them yourself.
English Speaking Experts Club members will have the opportunity to attend the Podcast Q&A Session. If you are not a member just do it on your own or better still with a colleague.
MIND THE GAP
Capture the vocabulary that you probably would not be able to remember when you need it at work, you have two options –
– write it down with a blue pen
– mark it with a blue marker
– take mini blue posit notes
– fill a blue index card
But Corinne “Do I really have to write them down?”
For most people then yes, writing gives your brain more of a chance of remembering it because you not only hear the word but you also see it and ‘feel it’ because you are in motion. That’s a brain nudge.
MEANING
Once you have written them down, you need to make sure you really know what the words mean using a combination of tools like dict.cc, leo and deepl
CREATE SAMPLE SENTENCES AND REPEAT THEM
This is what we do together at the end of the Podcast Q&A Session
